Licensed home
Licensed since 2020, Ô Koala has made affordability and access to French services a core part of our mission. We are proud to announce that our home daycare agency in Ontario has opted into the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system, allowing eligible families to benefit from reduced rates. By partnering with our agency, home daycares become licensed and part of this program. While making child care more affordable, we remain committed to delivering high-quality services without compromise.
Why choose a home daycare for your child?
Personalized attention
Unlike large childcare centers, home daycares are generally managed by a Childcare Manager (CHM) who can provide more individualized attention to each child. This can result in stronger relationships between RSG children, as well as a more personalized approach to care that meets the unique needs of each child.
Home-like environment
A home daycare can provide a comfortable environment that feels more like home than a daycare center. Children may feel more comfortable in familiar surroundings, which can help them adjust more easily to being away from their parents during the day. Also the siblings stay together because the RSG can accommodate children from 0 to 6 years old.
More flexibility in planning
Family child care centers may offer more flexible scheduling options than larger child care centers, which can be a real advantage for parents with unpredictable work schedules or other commitments.
Lower child/RSG ratios
RSGs generally have lower child to RSG ratios than larger childcare centers, meaning each child can receive more individualized attention and care. It can also help reduce the spread of disease and keep children healthier overall. Our ministerial protocol is 6:1 child.
Bilingual or multilingual care
Home daycare can be a good option for families seeking bilingual or multilingual care. Many RSGs are proficient in multiple languages and can provide a culturally diverse and enriching environment for children.

Responsibilities
- Plan and implement activities and a program adapted to the age of the children
- Providing a safe and caring environment for children
- Communicate effectively with parents and agency supervisors
- Keep accurate records of children’s progress and activities
- Maintain family daycare space clean, organized and secure
Requirements
- Experience in childcare services is an asset
- Certification in Early Childhood Education (ECE) is an asset
- Current certification in first aid and CPR Level C
- A valid criminal record check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for working independently with children
